Barnes believes this player is the answer to Liverpool’s problems

|

Former Liverpool midfielder John Barnes feels Declan Rice would be an excellent summer acquisition for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Klopp is poised to make major changes to his midfield set-up at the conclusion of the season, and Barnes believes that two of England’s World Cup heroes, Jude Bellingham and Rice, might be just what his old team requires to get back on track.

Liverpool has been linked with a number of high-profile central midfielders but does not appear to be making any headway in bringing any of them to the club.

Rice, who currently plays for the Hammers, had made 26 appearances for them, scoring one goal. He was a mainstay in the English team during the World Cup in Qatar. His versatility is something that Klopp can exploit and help rebuild his team.

Speaking BonusCodeBets, he said, “Players like Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice are players that would fit into any team and fit into the type of players Liverpool want and need in midfield. Hardworking midfield players that can defend as well as break forward. Those are two for me that would fit exactly what we want.”

“Any top-four club in the Premier League would want Declan Rice. He would improve every top side in the league because he is the best defensive midfielder out there. I think that Liverpool would be ideal for him because he is the player that they actually need. So, he knows that he will get a very important role on the team. But of course, Chelsea, Man United, and Arsenal would also love to have him in their squad, so he will have many options when he is going to pick his next club.”

Where do you think Rice will end up playing football next season?
