Rafa Benitez has launched a scathing attack on the men in charge of the World Club Championship Final on Sunday where Liverpool amazingly lost 1 – 0 to a poor, and very very lucky, Sao Paulo side.

The Reds completely dominated the entire game, scored 3 potential goals, had an amazing 21 shots on goal, and had 17 corners, whereas Paulo virtually had no shot on goal apart from obviously, the one where they scored from.

Benitez feels that the South American side had a helping hand from both the Mexican referee and Canadian linesman insisting that on another day, with another set of officials in charge, Liverpool would have come out rightful winners.

Benitez, who will spend some time with his family over the next few days following the sad death of his father said: ‘I talked to the officials at the end of the game but you can’t change things. We hit the bar, scored three goals and it was unbelievable the referee didn’t show the red card for that foul on Steven Gerrard.’

He added: ‘And I want to know why, when there have been lots of stoppages in the game, we only had three more minutes at the end?’

How did you see the decisions by the officials? Were they as poor a decision you have ever seen?
