Brighton lower Moises Caicedo asking price

|

Liverpool’s midfield transfer reformation seems to have received a huge boost as the price of Moises Caicedo has apparently been reduced. This comes based on a report in The Mirror.

The Reds have been linked with a move for the Brighton midfielder for some time. It was previously thought that he carried a heavy price of £85 million. However, recent reports suggest that the Seagulls would be willing to consider an offer of £60 million or more with add-ons. This will come as welcome news to Liverpool and other interested Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Newcastle, who are also interested in the midfielder.

Caicedo has been in impressive form this season, showcasing his hardworking and tenacious style of play. He is known for his relentless energy and dynamism in midfield, making him a great asset to any team. With his price now seeming reasonable, it remains to be seen if Klopp and his management can make a quick move for the Ecuadorean midfielder.

Even though Liverpool has struggled with underperformance and defensive issues this season, manager Jurgen Klopp has denied that the root cause of these problems is the team’s failure to sign a midfielder last summer. He believes, “It’s a general problem, not a midfield problem. Defending starts up front. If you don’t defend there, then the midfield has no chance. Balance might be a problem. Not so much in the last game, as the goals we conceded were two from set pieces and one from a counterattack. There weren’t balls being played through the midfield. Before that, it’s all about organisation.”

“It’s not so much that one midfield player could sort that. It’s about us doing it collectively in the right manner. The way we want to defend is clear. I can’t analyse the game differently when we lose or win. If it’s right, it’s right. If it’s not right, it’s not right. That will never change. Am I completely happy with the play? No, definitely not. But it’s not a midfield problem. It’s a general thing. You don’t start pressing here (points to his head). You start pressing here (points to the heart).”

Liverpool is looking like a team that is gassed out, and things might get very tough for them if they do not make some changes soon. This January window and the next summer transfer window seem to be two of the most important transfer windows of Klopp’s managerial career at Liverpool.
