Christian Falk: Liverpool could make £100million move for Leipzig defender

|

Liverpool have been backed to make a move for Josko Gvardiol in the summer, should the Jude Bellingham deal fall at the final hurdle.

This is according to reliable Bundesliga journalist, Christian Falk, who revealed the information when speaking to Caught Offside.

Falk revealed: “If Liverpool fail to land Jude Bellingham and have the money free, they’ve shown previously that they’re willing to spend big on a defender.”

“It could work out for Liverpool and it’s worth remembering that Jurgen Klopp is very aware of what’s happening in the Bundesliga, so I think he’d be keen.”

This news comes after transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, revealed that Liverpool was in fact Gvardiol’s dream club.

This news came as a blow to Chelsea, who had been tracking Gvardiol for a long while and was willing to spend huge money on the youngster.

The 20-year-old has already made 133 first-team appearances in his career for both Dinamo Zagreb and RB Leipzig, as well as making 21 caps for Croatia since his debut in 2021- leading them to the World Cup Semi-Final in Qatar last month.

Gvardiol could prove to be the perfect replacement for Virgil Van Dijk, for when he decides his time is up at Anfield.

A fast, tall, powerful and incredibly talented central defender, who would suit the speed and performance of the Premier League amazingly.

The croatian international can also play left-back, and we all know how important versatility is to Jurgen Klopp.
