Liverpool striker Djbril Cisse has suprised all by insisting that he wants to remain at the club despite lots of rumour signalling an exit by the Frenchman in the January transfer window.
It was believed Rafa had lost faith in the player, but Cisse is, if we are to believe, happy at life at Anfield.
The player said: ‘I have great friends and great team-mates and I’ve bought a great house. I just got married, so why would I want to leave?.’
It remains to be seen whether Benitez has the same view as Cisse, but the player gave his chances of a Rafa reprieve by having an excellent game against Depotivo Saprissa on Thursday in the World Club Championship.
