With the summer transfer window just a few months away and Liverpool in desperate need of some fresh blood in the squad, it has been revealed by the Daily Mail’s Northern Football Correspondent Dominic King that the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group will give manager Jurgen Klopp their full backing in the transfer market.
The news, if true, is a great start to trying to rebuild towards next season after the torrid campaign that the club and fans have had to endure so far this season.
With the owners clearly not on the same page as Klopp in January and leaving things until the last minute to strengthen our already weakened defence, it is great to hear that they will give the German full backing in the summer to try and compete with Manchester City once more, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

Although I don’t feel that the Reds need a complete squad overhaul, there is definitely a few fringe players that will need to be sold and the quality of our squad depth needs to be improved drastically. The Reds have a fantastic and almost world-beating starting XI but the players on the bench are nowhere near good enough to compete with those in front of them.
There have been rumours of Mohamed Salah leaving the club which have grown over the last few months and if the owners are set to back Klopp in the market, we could see some significant personnel changes in a few areas of the pitch as well as some growth in depth.

It will be exciting to see the business that the club aims to conduct over the summer months especially even if the squad fails to make the top-four as one of the overriding concerns was the lack of finances if the club failed to secure a Champions League spot.
