Liverpool have been given a great period of preparation ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester United on the 17th January, with their being 9 days between our FA Cup game against Aston Villa on Friday and their game against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

The Reds returned to winning ways against a youthful Villa side in their 4-1 win, with the likes of Sadio Mané, Mo Salah, and Gini Wijnaldum getting themselves on the scoresheet.

With the large gap between games and United having to play against Watford in their FA Cup tie yesterday and Burnley tomorrow night, Klopp will no doubt use this time as best as possible to take advantage of the preparation time, with their being both negatives and positives with the break.

The positive is evidently the time that will be given for the players to get a well-earned rest after a packed schedule so far this season – whereas the negative is that amount of time away from the pitch could also harm the sharpness and match readiness for the Liverpool players, which is why the German has stated that the Reds will be playing ‘a lot of 11v11 situations’ in preparation for the game to try and regain some rhythm with his squad, as stated by ThisIsAnfield.

I think the 11v11’s are a great idea and will be the perfect way to keep that rhythm as Klopp states given the large break between the two games, with the matchup against the Red Devils a must-win given the current look of the Premier League table, with the two teams both on 33 points in 1st and 2nd place, with Liverpool currently ahead on goal difference.

Liverpool return to action on the 17th of January, with United making the trip to Anfield in what is being called an early title-deciding game.
