According to more information courtesy of le10sport surrounding reported target Victor Osimhen, Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their bid to sign the player – with one of the starlet’s agents allegedly claiming that he will remain in France.

Osimhen, who has started 25 Ligue 1 games for current club Lille this season, scoring 13 goals in that time, was at the centre of recent interest from both the Reds and Spurs – with journalist Diego De Luca claiming (via Area Napoli) that the two clubs had offered €70 million (£62.6 million) for the youngster’s signature.

However, this most recent update on the saga from le10sport claims that Osimhen wants to commit his future to Lille, delivering a hammer blow to the Reds’ chances of acquiring a ‘real goalscorer‘ in time for next season.

According to WhoScored, the Nigerian has amassed more shots per game in the league than Liverpool star Sadio Mane – potentially highlighting the fact he would be a worthy investment.

The 21-year-old has also won 4.4 aerial duels per game, eclipsing our entire forward line by some margin, with only Virgil van Dijk, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip winning more on average.

His perceived dominance in the air, as well as his record of attempts on goal, signifies his potential as a striker to watch for the future – even if it appears unlikely he will depart his current club over the next few months.

Liverpool have also been heavily linked with RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner recently, with manager Jurgen Klopp hosting a video call involving the player.
