According to Alfredo Pedulla of Foot Mercato.it, Roberto Firmino is on the radar of Spanish giants Real Madrid.
European Champions Real Madrid are ‘thinking about’ bringing Liverpool star Roberto Firmino to the Spanish capital at the end of the season. It is claimed that a contract offer could even arrive ‘in the next few hours’ for the Brazilian who enters the last six months of his existing Liverpool contract.
The 31-year-old striker’s existing contract at Anfield is on the verge of being run out at the end of the current campaign. He has not yet signed a new deal/contract extension with Liverpool. As of 1st February, he will be free to talk to other clubs outside of England and sign a pre-contract agreement to join them at the start of next season.
The report states that there is no official contact between the two clubs, but those close to Real Madrid believe that it is the best option to strengthen the exiting Real Madrid attack. Firmino is expected to come in and play a supporting role to their existing striker, Karim Benzema.
Real Madrid and Liverpool will seem to go head-to-head on multiple things in the near future. These include the signature of Jude Bellingham, Firmino, and a UEFA Champions League Round of 16 knockout clash. This season, European Royalty certainly seems to be going head-to-head.
