After the injuries sustained to the Liverpool defence this season, the Reds have been linked with plenty of European talent over the past few weeks and a new name has entered the mix recently.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Leicester City are interested in a move for the defender after admitting to wanting more game time this season ahead of the Euro’s in the summer after only 6 appearances in the Serie A this campaign for Juventus – with him clearly low down on Andrea Pirlo’s pecking order.

The Turkish defender is clearly a big talent, with him being likened to many of the previous Juventus defenders such as Paolo Montero and Georgio Chiellini, but the most impressive comparison was from Turkish football expert Emre Sarigul who likened the central defender to former Manchester United great Nemanja Vidic…

“Demiral was a Vidic fan growing up and he is a similar stature to the former Manchester United man. The Turkish international towers above most players, is physical, strong in the air, and surprisingly technical with the ball for such a big man. He is a natural leader and cool under pressure.”

His 6ft3 stature and physical style of play would be a great addition to the Liverpool defence and would cost around £45 million according to the aforementioned publication Fanatiks, who state that the Old Lady have set their asking price for the 22-year-old if an offer was to be made.

Youngsters such as Rhys Williams and Nat Phillips have impressed for the club this season when having to step in but their lack of experience and Phillip’s contract running out at the end of the season – the Reds should look to firm up in this position given the absences.
