With the January transfer window coming closer and closer, the Reds will no doubt be in the market to invest within the squad, especially given the number of injuries so far this season to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Another name that has been mentioned throughout the rumour mill for some time now, is that of Schalke 04’s central defender Ozan Kabak.

The Turkish centre-back has been a player linked with the club for some time now, with Jurgen Klopp often preferring the need for four central defenders to choose from.

So far this season, Kabak has played his best football for Turkey in the UEFA Nationals League – averaging 4.5 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2.5 clearances, and 3 aerial duels won per game after 2 appearances.

The youngster is also another defender calm with the ball at his feet and evidently possesses great passing ability, averaging a 92.2% pass success rate in the Bundesliga this season.

I think Kabak would be a great fit at the club – with the physical style of the Bundesliga very similar to that of the Premier League, the only difference being the pace of play is faster in England than that of Germany, but this is not something that would take to long to get used to for a player of Kabak’s ability.

With the current injuries to Liverpool’s side, there is no doubt that the club will make a defensive signing in January – and with a current market value of £29 million, Kabak could definitely be the right player for Klopp to bring in to this Liverpool side. The Turkish international could be available at a cut-price, however, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Reds could secure their man for £18 million in January.
