Liverpool teammates face off in World Cup quarters

|

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold, Jordan Henderson, and Ibrahima Konate will take each other on in what promises to be a pulsating World Cup 2022 quarterfinal clash between France and England.

His Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold sent Konate a six-word message before the scheduled clash between England and France.

Trent Alexander messaged Konate after it was confirmed that they would face each other in the World Cup’s final eight.

In France’s daily press conference from Qatar via RMC Sport, Konate mentioned, “It’s a rivalry that’s been around since the dawn of time. Trent Alexander-Arnold sent me a message saying, ‘see you on Saturday, my brother’ because I’m very close to him.”

The Liverpool defender has started two games for the reigning World champions in Qatar. They won the first game he started but lost to Tunisia when they heavily rotated their squad to maintain fitness after surely having qualified at the top of the group.

Konate is expected to start the quarterfinal game, given his experience playing against English players in the Premier League.

Liverpool captain, Henderson, scored England’s first goal in their last-16 triumph over Senegal. France beat Poland to set up this clash with the Three Lions.

Who will come out on top in this game between England and France? Will Konate end up with bragging rights and continue on course to defend their World Cup title? Or will Henderson and Trent “bring it home”?
