The full-back only made his debut for Liverpool last week as a substitute in the 2-0 victory over Napoli in the Champions League and is expected to start for the Reds in tonight’s Carabao Cup clash with Derby County.

The 19-year-old joined the Reds from Aberdeen in the summer but has so far struggled for fitness, but since recovering has impressed massively in the under-21’s and in that ten-minute appearance against Napoli.

Ramsay’s fellow Liverpool full-back, Andy Robertson, has also made a return to the Scotland squad after missing out in the last squad due to a knee injury.

Scotland manager, Steve Clarke, has made plenty of changes with no Celtic players being included in the squad due to their commitments to the Sydney Super Cup- perhaps opening the door to the likes of Ramsay to make a name for himself.

Another Liverpool youth star must’ve impressed with 16-year-old, Ben Doak, also being included in Scotland’s Under-21 squad for the second consecutive time as they prepare to face Iceland.

Doak has took to life on Merseyside by storm since joining from Celtic in the summer, especially putting in a range of impressive performances in the UEFA Youth League.

It’s exciting as a Liverpool fan to see these young players getting the appreciation they deserve- it’s a shame other international managers appear to be too stubborn.
