Since joining the club in September for just shy of £45 million – Diogo Jota has proven he could become a great player at the club after his impressive start scoring 7 goals in his first 11 appearances, with five of those appearances coming from the bench.

The Portuguese forward has provided the Reds with a new dimension and given even greater fire-power to an already impressive attack of Sadio Mané, Mo Salah, and Roberto Firmino.

There has been talk over who should start at striker recently between Jota and Firmino – with individuals feeling that Firmino should be dropped in place of Jota who has been in good goal-scoring form compared to the Brazilian who only has only scored one league goal this season.

With the current absences in the squad and with Mo Salah now missing for the next three games due to testing positive, Jota will have to become an important component of Liverpool’s starting XI over the next few weeks and likely find himself occupying the right-wing with the Egyptian out.

Was Diogo Jota Liverpool's best signing in the summer?

No

I definitely love Jota so far since joining the club – his quality is undeniable and it is that very quality that Jurgen Klopp will be relying on in the current situation.

Luckily for the Reds, the player has experience playing on the wing whilst at Wolves, as well as this season for Liverpool and for Portugal on the international stage. I think his ability on the wing is going to be so important for us these next few games and hopefully, with Jota on the right, Mané on the left, and the quality of Firmino through the middle will be enough to help cruise us through this current period.

He will have to adapt for Klopp at this time and not get too used to playing at striker as he has done most for the club – and I believe he will be one of the key players for the club during this time until injuries and absences start to make their way back to training and the first-team squad.

What do you think Reds, will Diogo Jota be important for the Reds in the next few games? Let us know in the comments section down below…
