It is frequent that the Reds are linked with a move for some of the best players in the world.

Indeed, there are no exceptions when the chat comes to Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland, who has been tipped to become a possible Ballon d’Or winner in the future.

Since joining BVB, the 20-year-old has broken records galore in the Bundesliga, becoming the first player to score 5 goals in his first 2 games in the German top division for the Black and Yellow.

This season, the Norwegian striker has 5 goals in 5 games, including 2 assists in the league, and has certainly carried on his form from last season.

Yesterday, it was reported by The Mirror that Liverpool could land the striker, according to RB Salzburg’s sporting director Christoph Freund. The chief said that Haaland ‘will land there [Liverpool]’ – in reference to German legend Lothar Matthaus’ statement over Haaland’s future career.

Could Haaland become a Red in the future?

With Freud’s expectations that Haaland will eventually sign for Liverpool, the ball is in the Reds’ court on whether to act on this information in the future – and with 22 goals in 24 games since joining Dortmund at the start of the year, he would be an incredible addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Norwegian striker has a £63 million release clause in his Dortmund contract, but can only be activated in 2022 – so only time will tell on whether Klopp and the board at the club decide that Haaland will be a player they want to bring to Anfield – with him also being linked with moves to Real Madrid and Manchester United in the future.
