Since joining the club back at the start of the 2019/20 season, Harvey Elliott has shown glimpses of his quality and potential for the Reds faithful to enjoy.

And this season the youngster was sent out on loan to Championship club Blackburn to further his experience.

Already with a little bit of experience under his belt with Jurgen Klopp’s side, which includes experience with a Champions League and Premier League-winning team – it was time that the young starlet got the chance to perform on a regular basis this campaign, with last season only managing two appearances from the bench for the Reds in the Premier League.

The start of the season has been relatively positive for the 17-year-old, who has played 4 games for Tony Mowbray’s side in the league, scoring 1 goal with 2 assists. Playing at right-wing for the Rovers, Elliott has averaged a 7.29/10 according to WhoScored, including a 9.15/10 for his performance against Coventry, contributing a goal and an assist in their 4-0 victory.

His performance impressed the Liverpool faithful, who were quick to applaud his first goal for the Rovers on Twitter.

In their last game, however, the Rovers lost 2-0 to Welsh outfit Swansea City, and Elliott and co. looked a world away from their performances from the start of the season against Derby County and Wycombe Wanderers. During the game, the winger failed to complete a single dribble and was unable to produce a single shot throughout the game.

Tonight, the club faces Middlesbrough at home, and Elliott will be hoping for another chance to redeem himself after his performance vs the Swans.

Overall, Elliott has again shown glimpses of his talent for Mowbray’s side, and with the season only 9 games in for the Rovers, there is still plenty of time for the 17-year-old to improve and succeed on loan at the club.
