Liverpool returned to winning ways last night against Tottenham at Anfield, with the Reds managing a dramatic 2-1 win to take top spot in the Premier League an Anfield.

The whole squad played fantastically well throughout the game and deserved the victory over a stubborn Spurs side who were always strong defensively during the game but the Reds managed to push through and nick a winner through £64 million rated Roberto Firmino, who was easily my Man of the Match against the Lillywhites.

So many players in the squad had a great game such as Mo Salah, Rhys Williams, Curtis Jones, Sadio Mané, the list goes on, but Firmino’s performances really shone through for me, with the forward under fire as of late for his lack of goals.

The Brazilian registered an 8.48/10 WhoScored match rating at the end of the game, with him managing the winner for the Reds with a great header in the 89th minute to secure the three points for Liverpool.

Firmino managed 5 shots during the game, with 2 key passes and 2 successful dribbles, showcasing his intent going forward for the Reds alongside Mané and Salah for the Reds.

There was just something about Firmino’s all-around game throughout the match that just wowed me, with the Brazilian registering 52 touches all over the pitch, again highlighting his capabilities and duties in both attack and defence, with his pressing on Spurs’ backline helping to gain possession in the midfield third going forward for Liverpool.

The forward was easily my Man of the Match and the last-minute winning goal secured a great overall performance for him which will no doubt restore his confidence with him looking back to his best.
