Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool: Player Ratings

|

Liverpool came out 2-1 winners over Tottenham Hotspur to secure their first away win of the season. Here is how we think the players performed tonight:

Alisson Becker- 8

The Brazilian made multiple crucial saves especially in the second half to keep his side ahead. Not much he could do with Harry Kane’s insane finish in the second half.

Trent Alexander-Arnold- 7

Personally, I thought that Trent handled his defensive duties very well tonight for the most part. His passing was world-class, starting off multiple counter attacks that should have probably resulted in more goals

Ibou Konate- 7

Another solid performance from Konate tonight, keeping Harry Kane quiet for most of the game apart from the goal which even then the defender as much as he could really.

Virgil Van Dijk- 7

Similarly, to his partner in defence, I thought Van Dijk put in a good display at the back and as always added a much-needed level of composure to the back line.

Andy Robertson- 7

The Scotsman appears to be revitalized since coming back from his knee injury. Was left outnumbered especially in the second half but played a key part in Liverpool’s opener.

Fabinho- 7

Fabinho seems to be finding his feet the further into the season we go, putting another decent performance in the heart of midfield tonight. His reading of the game was better and wasn’t shying out of any tackles.

Thiago- 7

The Spaniard battled hard throughout the match, winning a surprising number of aerial duels. The midfield was always going to have a tricky game due to the formation Spurs played, with it being very centrally focused.

Harvey Elliott- 7

It’s great to see a young lad with such passion for the club. He might not be the biggest or the strongest on the pitch, but he battles for every second ball. His link up play, especially in the first half, was a joy to watch.

Mohamed Salah- 9 (Man of the Match)

I think every Liverpool fan will understand when I say I’m simply in awe of Mohamed Salah. Another iconic performance from the Egyptian King, picking up two tidy goals.

Roberto Firmino- 7

The Brazilian played the role between Salah and Nunez really well, linking up the forward play especially in the first goal. His legs seemed to have been starting to go towards the end of the game but will get a well-deserved rest when Liverpool play Derby during the week.

Darwin Nunez- 7.5

Nunez was a constant thorn in the side of Tottenham’s defence and played a clever pass into the feet of Salah for the first goal. If only he was a little bit more clinical today, he could have grabbed a couple himself- but nevertheless another promising display from the forward.
