Special Mohamed Salah shines in Spurs victory

|

Liverpool came out 2-1 winners in a huge clash against Tottenham Hotspur, with a brace from Mohamed Salah sealing their first away win in the Premier League season.

Two brilliant first half goals from Salah put the Reds two goals to the good at half-time, with the three forwards linking up superbly.

A second half goal from Harry Kane increased the pressure on Jurgen Klopp’s men, however Spurs were unable to make any of their chances count.

The game opened up quickly with striker, Darwin Nunez, coming close to finding the back of the net on multiple occasions in the first ten minutes.

But it was the Uruguayan’s clever link up with Salah that paid dividends, laying the ball off for Salah to finish the move off with a sublime finish.

A mistake from Eric Dier later in the first half left the Egyptian King one-on-one with Hugo Lloris before calmly dinking the ball over the keeper.

Both sides had chances in the second half, but it was Spurs who found the back of the net, with a superb finish from Harry Kane.

Three points were vital for Klopp’s side today in their race for Champions League qualification, in which Tottenham are one of Liverpool’s biggest rivals in this matter.

The Reds host Derby County in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday before their final Premier League game before the World Cup against Southampton next Saturday at Anfield.
