Transfer Rumour: Liverpool interested Ajax’s Kudus

|

Mohammed Kudus, a 22-year-old Ghana, and Ajax midfielder is attracting interest from several clubs. Liverpool is also said to be interested. In addition to Liverpool, Juventus, AC Milan, Everton, and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in the Ajax midfielder, according to Sports World Ghana.

According to Sports World Ghana, Liverpool will have scouts in the stands watching the 22-year-old midfielder when he plays at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Like Darwin Nunez, Liverpool’s interest grew after Kudus scored against them in the Champions League in September. Given the midfield injury concerns, rumour has it that Klopp wants to bring him in in January.

Kudus is primarily an advanced midfielder for Ajax and Ghana, but he can also play in the centre of the field. He has made 21 appearances this season, scored ten goals, and registered two assists. That comes to approximately a goal involvement every 80-odd minutes.

Kudus is a versatile player. Other than a midfield role, he has the ability to play in the false-9 role as well. Such kind of versatility is something Klopp likes. It gives him the chance to ensure that the team maintains a certain amount of unpredictability.

Fabrizio Romano mentioned on CaughtOffside that there is interest but there is nothing concrete about it. Liverpool has not made an official approach to Ajax or the player’s representatives. He believes that Jude Bellingham remains a top priority for the Reds.

Do let us know what your thoughts are on this potential transfer between Liverpool and Ajax. According to us at Vital Liverpool, fans will certainly be happy to see Kudus lining up at Anfield in Liverpool Red.
