The Reds have had a turbulent start to this season with some interesting results and injury setbacks that have completely changed the outlook of the first team, with Liverpool’s defence down to its bare bones.

Tonight, however, marks the return of Premier League action for the Reds after a quick turnaround from the 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday afternoon – with current league leaders Tottenham making the trip to Merseyside.

The North London outfit has had a strong start to their campaign and has scored goals galore after their first 12 games, with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son on fire for the Lillywhites with 19 goals and 14 assists between them.

Despite their strong start and current form with Jose Mourinho starting to get the best out of his squad in his first full season, the Reds have a trump card up their sleeves this evening that I don’t think Mourinho’s side will be ready for and that is the Anfield effect.

Can Liverpool beat Tottenham?

Since March, fans had been absent from stadiums due to the current global climate, but recent rule changes meant that up to 2,000 fans could attend live games depending on their geographical location – with Liverpool and Anfield being one of them.

The impact of the Liverpool fans was as evident as ever against Wolves last weekend, with the Reds running out 4-0 victors for the fans on their first trip to Anfield for 9 months – and their voices could be heard across the whole of the city.

Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker even said how at times it felt as though there were 15,000 fans rather than 2,000 due to the atmosphere the Liverpool faithful had managed to create that night – and I think this atmosphere will be Tottenham’s kryptonite this evening, with the Reds fans there to help there club through.

With the game just hours away, let’s be sure that the club’s fans in attendance will give the players the strength and confidence to beat Spurs and go top of the table.

What do you think Liverpool fans, will the crowd make a big impact on the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below…
