With the Reds in need of some investment during the summer and a rebuild in regards to the squads depth, as it is clear that many of the players currently residing on the bench do not have the quality to make a difference in the starting XI.

Individuals such as Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi have reportedly found themselves listed for sale in the summer, as well as midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlian who could also see the exit door if the right offer comes Liverpool’s way. These rumours over certain players futures is what has eld to many believing that the club could see some significant investment in the summer transfer window.

In fact, during an exclusive interview with Anfield Watch, freelance football journkaalist David Lynch said that he’d be surprised if there wasnt a decent amount of investment at the end of the season…

I have to agree with Lynch in the sense that it would be a big shock if the club wasn’t to make a few signings in the summer to strengthen those options throughtout the squad, especially if some of the other players mentioned were to leave.

The club needs to improve the quality outside of the starting XI as we have seen that the players sitting on the sides aren’t the quality needed to keep Liverpool at the top, with this season showing the lack of quality in defence and in midfield with extensive injuries at times over the current campaign.

How many more additions will Liverpool make this summer?

Hopefully FSG will back Jurgen Klopp in the coming months in the transfer market if the club has hopes of returning to the top again – with this seasons retainment of the Premier League title all but gone.
