Fabrizio Romano: ‘Liverpool keen on Wolves’ Matheus Nunes’

|

Liverpool seem to be linked with every midfielder in Europe, but don’t seem to be making any official offers for any despite their obvious problems in the middle of the park.

Reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed on his twitter that Liverpool are keen on signing Matheus Nunes for next season as a partner to Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

The Reds are expected to sign at least two midfielders, whether that be in January, the summer or spread across both of the transfer windows.

Nunes was close to moving to Liverpool last summer, but Wolves got the deal done before the Reds.

However, Romano claims that negotiations regarding a future move from the Midlands to Merseyside still took place betwen the two clubs and the player.

With Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner’s current contracts set to expire in June, as well as Arthur Melo’s loan coming to an end, then Liverpool are in desperate need of some really talented midfielders.

The Portuguese midfielder has made a really bright start to his career at Wolves, despite the club struggling for most the season and sitting just above the relegation zone.

Nunes really impressed in his substitute appearance against Liverpool in the FA Cup at Anfield a couple of weeks ago, dancing through Jurgen Klopp’s midfield like it wasn’t there.

But then again, I think our current midfield could even make Scott Mctominay look a decent player.
