Liverpool have no doubt been one of the best teams in the world over the past few seasons with them winning the Champions League and Premier League in successive seasons.

It hasn’t been an easy journey either, with the Reds having to fight off worthy competition for both accolades and them often doing so in style – such as winning the league by 18 points, as well as our stunning comeback against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final.

However, despite this fine form, Liverpool midfielder James Milner has opened up in a recent interview with Sony India via the Daily Mirror over our form in previous seasons and that many times, we won games in previous seasons that we probably didn’t deserve too – and that is now catching up with Jurgen Klopp and his team.

Has James Milner been an excellent servant for Liverpool?

This season has seen a real dip from the Reds squad in terms of their performances and results, with Klopp’s side currently sat in fourth spot in the Premier League on 34 points and six off of top spot.

It is very open of Milner to come out with such a statement given the success that we have had over recent years but I suppose despite how well we have played, lucky results and things going your way are always going to have an impact along the way during a trophy-winning season.

As the midfielder says, that luck has been completely against the Reds this campaign, and those underserved results of yonder have flipped completely with us now on the receiving end of other teams getting lucky results against us.

No matter the case, Liverpool still see themselves in the running for both the Premier League and Champions League still this season and only time will tell if these poor results will last, or whether we can regain our fine form.
