After joining the Reds from Wolves back in the summer, Portuguese forward Diogo Jota certainly hit the ground running on his Liverpool career, scoring 9 goals in his first 15 games in the Premier League and Champions League for the club.

The forward has proven to be a revelation for Jurgen Klopp, with not many fans expecting to see such a start to his time at the club with him even causing a stir between who should start in the front-three between himself and Roberto Firmino, with the Brazilian’s dip in form at the start of the season being amplified by Jota’s positive start.

Sadly, this good form was cut short after the 24-year-old picked up a devastating injury in our final Champions League group game against FC Midtjylland with a bruised knee and has missed 8 games for the Reds since, with many of them needing his attacking talent and goalscoring ability.

Was Diogo Jota Liverpool's best signing in the summer?

No

No

Our form as of late has been pretty poor overall and could have done with Jota either starting the game or making an impact coming off the bench like he had done against West Ham at the end of October.

Despite the hope for an early return from myself, Jota is ‘still a few weeks away’ from a return for the Reds and will not yet return to training for another few weeks, with is injury needing to ‘take time’ according to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp via the LiverpoolEcho.

Hopefully, the next few weeks will go fast enough for us to see Jota make his return to the starting XI, as I feel this other dimension that he brings to the Liverpool attack is massively needed at the moment with the club’s current attacking outlet lacking in fire power from time to time recently.

What do you think Liverpool fans, are you excited to see Diogo Jota return? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below…
