Following Liverpool’s official coronation on Thursday evening, with the Reds officially being crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 30 years, manager Jurgen Klopp could now turn his attention to the defence next season.

Indeed, according to a report in the paper edition of Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, Liverpool are eyeing a move for Wolves winger Adama Traore in the wake of their historic title victory – especially given the notion that we could benefit from strength in depth if we hope to retain our status.

Is Traore one of the key ingredients to our title defence?

Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Man City meant Liverpool were mathematically crowned league winners, coming finally after three decades of waiting.

Now, the priority could be to go again next season while also challenging for the Champions League, with star attacker Traore now on the list of candidates to help solidify our squad’s contention.

Indeed, as per Mundo via Sport Witness, journalist Miguel Rico claims that Wolves have ‘several offers‘ for the £75 million-rated ace – with one of them being from the English champions.

Given Nuno Espirito Santo is currently unsure over whether Traore will stay in the Midlands, Liverpool could be one of the favourites to secure his signature given our newly elected status.

Klopp has described the 24-year-old in past interviews as a ‘big, big talent‘, which is evident by his WhoScored stats this season.

Traore, going by the numbers, completes more dribbles and take-ons than any Liverpool player on average and more than double that of star winger Sadio Mane.

Whether or not we take the plunge remains to be seen, but the Premier League winners appear to have one eye on retaining the crown already.
