Liverpool Defender Does Require Surgery Confirmation

|

Yesterday, here at Vital Liverpool, we covered the ongoing concerns relating to the fitness of our England international defender, Joe Gomez.

Our article, Click Here, covered the possibility that the 21-year-old might need to undergo surgery as the fractured leg he received, away to Burnley, wasn’t healing as fast as expected.

Today (Monday), the club has confirmed that will, in fact, be the case.

Naturally, it is a big blow for both the player and our club and the news source the BBC, carries some comments attributed to both Jurgen Klopp and the player himself,

Klopp, talking about the blow has remarked:

“He is too valuable to take any risk with, both for our present and future, so we get this procedure done and he comes back when he’s ready. His attitude during this rehab has been outstanding but it just hasn’t healed as we’d have liked so we will make this intervention and then he will come back.”

Clearly a case of better safe than sorry.

As for the player himself, he had this to say:

“The hardest part is not being able to help the team and contribute on the pitch at the moment, so it’s important I come back ready to go and this procedure will help with that.”

Hopefully, Joe will make a return before the end of the season and play his part in an eagerly awaited title triumph.

Until then, we wish him all the best and a speedy recovery.
