According to an exclusive report courtesy of Read Liverpool, the club have been ‘in contact’ with West Ham United defender Jeremy Ngakia along with a host of other teams – apparently speaking to his agent in regards to an Anfield move.

Ngakia, who has started four league games for the Hammers this season, is seen as a promising up-and-comer with a potentially bright future as Liverpool and other clubs allegedly speak with his agent over a transfer.

Time is quickly running out for West Ham to offer him a worthy contract extension given Ngakia rejected their last proposal, and he could become a free agent by the end of this month if David Moyes’ side fail to tie him down with a new deal.

Could Ngakia compete with TAA in future?

This has prompted Liverpool to reportedly take action, with the club recently speaking to Ngakia’s representatives over a potential move to Merseyside.

Even though the ‘immense‘ 19-year-old has only started a handful of Premier League matches, he did manage to display some promise during our 3-2 home win over West Ham back in late February.

Up against star Reds attacker Sadio Mane, Ngakia managed to hold his own on most occasions, winning just over half of his ground and aerial duels as per SofaScore.

The Englishman also made five tackles, four clearances and three interceptions – managing to accumulate the second-highest match rating out of the Hammers starting 11 that evening.

His performance against us could be an indicator of some hidden promise, but given Ngakia’s search for regular first team football, it appears unlikely for now that we will be able to entice him with an Anfield switch.
