After a packed schedule of difficult fixtures, along with an injury list longer than my arm – Liverpool have proved many of their doubters wrong by finishing the week in an impressive position in both the Premier League and Champions League.
These thoughts and feelings were echoed by that of James Pearce of The Athletic – who stated yesterday on Twitter of his opinion on Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures this week after a difficult period of injuries.
#LFC going into a big week 3pts clear at the top of the PL and with a perfect record in the CL.
Their rivals were waiting for the wheels to come off after Van Dijk’s injury. But they’ve won all four games since – despite also losing Thiago, Keita, Matip & Fabinho. Some effort.— James Pearce (@JamesPearceLFC) November 1, 2020
This week sees some big fixtures in the club’s calendar, with tomorrow’s Champions League fixture against Atalanta a hotly contested game with the Italian’s currently second behind the Reds in Group D – as well as a crunch league game against Manchester City on Sunday at the Etihad.
Can the club win their next two games?
Yes
No
With big players such as van Dijk, Thiago, Keita, Matip, and Fabinho missing for the Reds this week at least – it’ll be a big week of football for Jurgen Klopp and his side to come out the other end of, especially if they do so with the maximum points from both fixtures.
What do you think Reds? Can Klopp’s side win their next two fixtures against Atalanta and Man City? Let us know down below…
