At the start of the season, many Reds fans would have been full of optimism and faith that Jurgen Klopp’s side would regain their Premier League title from last season,
And so far the club is sitting top of that very table – but not without the odd hurdle here and there.
Just 7 games into the Premier League season and already the club’s injury list is already at an alarming number.
Big names such as Virgil van Dijk, Thiago, Joel Matip, and Fabinho are currently sidelined, with the Dutch defender van Dijk likely to be out for a long period of time.
Despite this, two individuals surprised Liverpool journalist DaveOCKOP on Twitter on Saturday after the club’s 2-1 victory over West Ham.

Nat Phillips and Xherdan Shaqiri both pulled out impressive displays against the Hammers at the weekend. The English defender was awarded a MOTM performance, whilst the Swiss forward provided the assist for Diogo Jota’s winning goal after coming on with just 20 minutes to play.

Both players have done well to prove their worth for Klopp’s side recently – and could well have started to earn their places in more starting XI’s in the future.
