Last night saw Liverpool crowned the Team of the Year at the 67th BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards, with the Reds being crowned the award after their 2019/20 season that saw the club win their first-ever Premier League title and their first league title for the last 30 years.

The club won last year’s Premier League title with an incredible 99 points and 18 points clear of second-place Manchester City and proved to be the best team in the country with Jurgen Klopp finally taking Liverpool back to the pinnacle of English football.

I think the club were deserved winners of the award last night, with them not just showing professionalism on the pitch but off of it too, with players such as Jordan Henderson spearheading the Players Together campaign due to the current global climate in a bid to raise money for NHS Charities Together.

Will Liverpool retain the Premier League in 2020/21?

Yes

No

Last season saw some of the best football a team has produced in the Premier League for many years and it has given Klopp and his team a great platform to continue the success into this season, with the Reds currently sat at the top of the Premier League table and four points clear of second-place Leicester City.

Manager Klopp was also crowned Coach of the Year by the BBC for his efforts during the season but not much more needs to be justified for that win, with it correlating with the club’s victory too.

We have been so lucky in these recent years to have enjoyed the changes to the club and the success that we are now starting to enjoy and the awards last night completely justify that.

What do you think Liverpool fans, were you happy to see Klopp and the club crowned the trophies? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below…
