Roberto Firmino on verge of Liverpool extension

|

As reported, Liverpool’s Brazilian forward, Roberto Firmino is on the verge to extend his current contract at Liverpool his agent confirmed on Sky Germany yesterday. The final details of the contract will be finalized soon and the decision shall be announced. Firmino wants to secure his future at Liverpool until 2025.

Only two Reds have made over 300 appearances for Liverpool since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp and those two are Firmino and James Milner. This clearly shows that Firmino is one of Klopp’s favourites who has “learned the assignment.”

Many believe that giving a 31-year-old Firmino a contract is not the right choice comparing it to the extensions handed out the Jordan Henderson and possibly to Milner as well, however, there are reports that Firmino is agreeing to lower game time and effectively being 5th or 6th choice forward.

Bobby Firmino did mention that he wants to continue playing at the highest level despite a few other lucrative offers. He reportedly had requests from Saudi Arabia and Italy. There were untrue rumours of Al-Nassr wanting him to join Cristiano Ronaldo.

Paul Ince on Firmino’s Liverpool impact, “The reason that Mane, Firmino, and Salah were unplayable a couple of years ago was because of Roberto Firmino. He used to pull center-halves out of position to allow Salah and Mane space to run into.”

Other than Firmino there are four other players whose contracts run out at the end of the season. Those include Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, and Adrian. As a Liverpool fan, who would you keep? Let us know in the comments section below.
