Transfer Rumour: Liverpool linked to Argentine star

|

The FIFA World Cup is when multiple transfer stories, mostly rumours come to light. Liverpool is usually linked to every upcoming star. Argentina’s Enzo Fernandez is no different.

The 21-year-old central midfielder has raised many eyebrows in the World Cup. He has made two appearances for Argentina and gotten his name on the scoresheet in one of the games. His ability to create space for those around him, his ball retention in midfield, and his passes that help break the opponent’s defensive lines make him an exciting prospect.

Having been linked with Liverpool by reports in the SPORT, the Benfica midfielder will have to be on the watchlist by multiple clubs across the globe. In the summer, he recently joined the Portuguese club, Benfica, which means if there is any hope of him having to move, it will be for a considerably high free.

Lionel Messi on Enzo after they beat Mexico, “Enzo, I’m not surprised. I know him and watch him train every day. He deserves it because he is a spectacular boy and a significant player for us. Very happy for him.” You can read the full quote on Goal.

The fact that we prized Darwin Nunez away from them might make it slightly more challenging for Liverpool to lure one more of their top-rated youngsters.

If he manages to help Argentina progress and go far in the World Cup, his transfer fees will certainly shoot through the roof. Enzo Fernandez is now the youngest player to score for Argentina at the FIFA World Cup since Lionel Messi scored for them back in 2006.

Besides Liverpool, Manchester City is also interested in signing Fernandez.
