Since joining the club from Red Star Belgrade in 2016, Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic has failed to cement a place in the club’s starting IX, or even a spot on the bench for that matter.

After four spells on loan during his time at Liverpool, Grujic has reached a crossroads in his career and will likely see the exit door in the summer with himself and Harry Wilson reportedly set to be sold to raise funds for the summer window.

This has left the decision of Europe’s clubs as to whether they may aim to sign Grujic with him being available in the summer and one club has already reached their verdict on a possible move. This season Grujic has been on loan at Portuguese champions FC Porto and despite featuring at times throughout the season, the club has reportedly made the decision to not make the move permanent in the summer, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

It was a decision that was expected in my opinion given the lack of game time that Grujic has had at Porto so far this season, and when he has had his chances he has failed to make an impact.

This season the 23-year-old has only managed 29 appearances in all competitions and has failed to register a goal or an assist in those games – he even managed to get himself sent off in the club’s fourth group game in the Champions League against Marseille.

Should Marko Grujic stay at Liverpool?

Yes

No

No

It is easy to understand why Porto has opted not to sign Grujic permanently in the summer, with him not showing the quality that he once had and the likelihood of him costing a fair amount despite his lack of guarantee of performing to the level expected of him.

What do you think Liverpool fans, will you be sad to see Grujic leave? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below…
