Liverpool have earned themselves a long break during the current international break, with the Reds set to return to action on the 4th of April against Arsenal before their huge Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

It is one of the biggest games in the club’s calendar right now and offers a real challenge for the cub to prove themselves during a season that has been overrun by injuries and poor form most notably in the Premier League.

After recent news broke that German midfielder Toni Kroos will likely miss the first leg after withdrawing from international duty with an adductor injury, Real have found themselves with another player that could miss the clash with Uruguayan Federico Valverde possibly set to miss the game as well with a knock, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

If Valverde really is set to miss the clash then the Reds will no doubt have found themselves with an even bigger boost than just having Kroos absent for the game.

Whether Real were to come out with a full-strength squad or not I still have faith that Liverpool would be able to get the job done over the two legs but with ht e pair possibly absent from the game, I can’t see the result going any other way than a win for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Can Liverpool beat Real Madrid in the quarter-finals?

Yes

Yes

No

No

If the Reds were to miss out on a Champions League spot in the league then winning it this year is their best chance of ensuring they qualify for the competition next year and I think that Klopp will value this higher than trying to do it through a top-four finish.
