The summer transfer window is around the corner and we will likely see some new faces make their way to Anfield with the club and Jurgen Klopp set to invest in some weaker areas of the squad to contend with the title once more.

It was revealed yesterday that the Reds were trying to finalise a deal for RB Leipzig’s young French defender Ibrahima Konaté ahead of the summer window to allow themselves to get the most time with him possible during pre-season and before the start of the 2021/22 campaign.

There had been rumours over a possible five-man shortlist that the club had compiled as their main targets in that area for the summer and it appears as though that list has been revealed, with more than £133million worth of talent according to Transfermarkt with some of the most exciting and developed talents across some of Europe’s top five leagues according to The Mirror, as cited by AnfieldWatch on Twitter…

The list does really excite me as a Liverpool fan with names such as Konaté who is already reportedly close to a deal with the club, as well as the likes of Ben White and Ozan Kabak who are two of some of the finest young defenders in Europe with White linked with a move for some time as well as Kabak enjoying a successful loan at the club so far.

Duje Caleta-Car came close to joining the club back in January but his parent club Marseille ultimately pulled out of the deal due to concerns as to whether they would be able to find a replacement in time which is understandable.

Will Klopp improve the Liverpool squad this summer?

No

As to Leicester City’s Caglar Soyuncu, having been able to watch him for some time now in the Premier League it is fair to say that he is certainly one of the best centre-backs in the league after proving himself over the last few seasons but one issue with him will be his price. It is likely that Leicester would demand a high price for selling a player like him to a league rival so, in my opinion, he is the least likely to occur.
